Every member carries a ministry. Every home, a centre of discipleship.
At MKC Dire Dawa, ministry is not the work of a few; but the calling of every believer. Inspired by the Acts 2 community and the Anabaptist conviction of the priesthood of all believers, we have structured our congregation so that each member participates in building up the body of Christ.
Our youth ministry exists to disciple young people aged 13–30, equipping them to live boldly for Christ in Dire Dawa and beyond. We meet weekly for Bible study, fellowship, and worship, and organise evangelism outreaches in schools and neighbourhoods.
The Women's Fellowship of MKC Dire Dawa is a community of prayer, support, and service. Our women have always been at the heart of the church's witness; a legacy stretching back to the underground years when women led cell groups and organised house fellowships across the city with courage and faith.
Today, the women's fellowship gathers for Bible study, prayer, practical support for families in need, and leadership development. Women serve as cell group leaders, Sunday school teachers, evangelists, and deaconesses.
The men of MKC Dire Dawa are called to be servant-leaders in their families, the church, and the community. Our men's fellowship provides accountability, brotherhood, and teaching to help men grow into the character of Christ.
Music has always been central to MKC worship. From the underground years; when believers gathered in homes, singing softly so as not to be heard; to the joyful, full-throated praise of our Sunday services today, the choirs of MKC Dire Dawa carry forward a living tradition of original Amharic worship songs.
Our choir members commit to prayer, regular practice, and a disciplined spiritual life. They write original songs, arrange Scripture passages into memorable melody, and minister across denominational lines in Dire Dawa.
Children are active participants in our congregation, not merely spectators. Our Children's Sunday School runs concurrently with the morning service, providing age-appropriate Bible teaching, songs, and activities for children aged 3–12.
The cell group is not an optional extra. It is where discipleship happens, where members pray for each other by name, and where the gospel spreads person to person across Dire Dawa.
Each cell group studies the same lesson arrenged by the church, for that season. Cell meeting deepens Bible understanding through discussion and personal application.
Cell members pray specifically for each other's needs; health, employment, family, and faith; building a real community of care.
Each cell group is responsible for bearing witness to its immediate neighbourhood, sharing the gospel and discipling new believers before baptism.
